Eligibility
1. All regular students whose parental income is not more than Rs.3,50,000/- per annum studying in class – VIII in Government, Government aided & local body Schools of Tripura will be eligible to appear in the Examination.
2. All Below Poverty line (BPL), Antyoday (AAY), Ad-hoc & NFSA ration card holder Students are not required to submit Income certificate at the time of application.Only Above Poverty Line (APL) ration card holder students will have to submit income certificate at the time of application.
3. The students studying in “Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas” are not entitled to get scholarship under this scheme. Similarly, those students studying in Residential schools run by the Centre/State Government Institution where facilities like boarding, lodging & fooding are provided and students studying in private schools are also not eligible for the scholarship under the scheme.

Pattern of Examination
1. Examination will be taken through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and evaluation Process will be OMR sheet based.
2. Examination may consist of two test: a.Mental Ability Test(MAT) b.Scholastic Aptitude Test(SAT)
3. The Mental Ability Test shall consists of 90 multiple choice questions covering verbal and non verbal abilities like reasoning and critical thinking and Scholastic Aptitude Test shall consists of 90 multiple choice questions covering subjects namely, Science, Social studies and Mathematics.
4. The Students must pass both the test i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks and in aggregate taken together for these two test will be calculated for Total marks. For the SC/ST Students, this cut off will be 32%.
5. Student will apply through the online portal and also download their admit card through online.
Medium of Examination
Medium of National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination will be in English and Bengali Languages.
Disbursement of Scholarship
1. The selected students on the basis of merit must register on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) namely https://scholarships.gov.in/ for getting the scholarship.
2. 351 students, for National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination, as per merit list will be given a scholarship @ Rs.12000/- per annum @ Rs.1000/- per month for 4 years provided that for continuing the scholarship in class X and XII , the awardees should get clear promotion from class IX to class X and from class XI to class XII in the first attempt.
3. The awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in class X examination (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students) for continuation of the scholarship at higher secondary stage.
